More About What We Believe

Scripture References and Resources

Believe

We believe the Bible. We believe in One immortal and eternal God whose name is Jesus. We believe in salvation from sin through baptism in Jesus Name and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. We believe we are all called to live for God and to serve and minister to the hurting world around us. We believe we are the hands and feet of Jesus and you can be too.

The Bible

The Holy Bible is the infallible Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16; Ephesians 3:5; II Peter 3:2)  We believe it was written under divine inspiration.  We accept the scriptures as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

God

We believe in the One ever-living, eternal God: infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity.  This one true God has revealed Himself as the Father in creation, through His Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. (Deuteronomy 6:4)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin; that he lived a sinless life, was crucified on Calvary for our sins, and bodily rose from the grave; and that he has been exalted on the throne of God where He is the only mediator between God and man. We believe that through his death and life we have personal salvation and power for victorious living.

The Great Commission

We believe the Church has been "called out" of the world to be a habitation of God through the Holy Spirit. As the body of Christ on earth, the church offers hope to mankind. The church is one body made up of many members, diverse in their gifts and callings of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:16-20)

Gifts of the Spirit

We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy; words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, healing, helps and government. (Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 2 Corinthians 12:1-11)

The Second Coming

Jesus Christ will return to the earth to catch the church away (I Thes. 4:16, 17), and shall, after a short time, return to set up His kingdom on earth (Revelation 19:11-16; Matthew 24:29-3

Salvation

We believe that all men have sinned and stand in need of redemption, which is obtained through the new birth by faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that this new birth is experienced by those who appropriate the gospel (death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ) to their lives by repenting of ones sins, being baptized in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost as promised in Acts 2:38-39.

We believe the initial evidence of the Holy Spirit indwelling is when one speaks in other tongues as the spirit gives the utterance. Those being born again of water and spirit become children of God and heirs with Jesus Christ. (Acts 2, John 3, I Corinthians 15:1-4)
